The Cybersecurity Trends and Challenges Panel Discussion as part of the WebSec 101 Webinar Series began with a friendly welcome of the attendees and a brief introduction of the guest speakers: Mr. Sami Said, Mr. Iheb Rayan, and Mr. Ahmed Chabchoub. Mr. Sami Lachheb, the moderator, set the stage by highlighting the importance of cybersecurity awareness. He cited the recent Flousi data leak in July as a key example of why strong security practices are essential.

The discussion began with a debate about how that crisis was communicated. Mr. Chabchoub stressed the importance of crisis communication. He pointed out that it is vital for a company to be transparent about incidents, outlining their action plan and explaining how they are going to minimize the impact for their clients. Mr. Sami Said urged participants to avoid using the same credentials across multiple platforms and to regularly check if their data is exposed on the dark web. Mr. Rayan Iheb also reminded us that cybersecurity today is more about prevention than response. He encouraged attendees to take a look at ISO standards and best practices and use them to make their organization's security position stronger. And he reminded us, as well, that AI-based attacks are on the rise, so proactive defenses are even more crucial.

Towards the end, Mr. Iheb Rayan invited the audience to consider careers in cybersecurity, noting the field’s bright future and international significance.
