Our IEEE WIE Affinity Group at Siddaganga Institute of Technology is organizing WIE CODE, a 12-hour national-level hackathon designed to empower women in engineering and technology. The event provides a competitive yet supportive platform for participants, especially women, to develop innovative software and hardware solutions for real-world challenges. Through structured mentorship, guidance from industry experts, and teamwork, participants gain critical technical skills, creativity, and confidence to become future leaders.
Since its inception in 2019, WIE CODE has become a flagship initiative that consistently attracts participation from across the country and has resulted in impactful prototypes and scalable solutions. The event aligns strongly with the WIE mission and vision, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in technology while inspiring women to pursue leadership roles. By securing this special funding, we aim to enhance our technical infrastructure, expand outreach to more women participants, and provide greater recognition to their innovative contributions.
This support will help us continue building a diverse, equitable, and empowered technical community, reinforcing WIE’s role in advancing women as innovators and changemakers in society.
