Generation Modeling Validation Workshop
Dr. Slaven Kincic is an accomplished power systems engineer with over 20 years of experience in the utility and university environment with expertise in power systems, power electronics, hydro generation and project management. Demonstrated success leading multiple project, working with internal and external clients, vendors, and research organizations, and representing companies at industry forums. Core expertise includes real time applications such as State Estimator (SE), real time contingency analysis, voltage and transient stability, cascading outages, Energy Management Systems (EMS) and PMU applications, operation and planning studies (steady state and transient), and power electronics. Adept in preparing R&D proposals and supporting R&D projects funded by US DOE. Started, developed and chaired WECC’s WSM and Basecase Reconciliation Task Force under the TSS (Technical Study Subcommittee). Member of the Joint Synchronized Information Subcommittee (JSIS), Modeling and Validation Working Group (M&VWG), was Chair of System Model Validation TF under MVWG and member of several IEEE subcommittees and task forces. An author or coauthor of reports, panels, journal and conference papers. IEEE Senior Member.
