Workshop on "Smart, Safe & Strong: Cyber Safety & Digital Literacy with IEEE WIE"
The one-day workshop aims to create awareness and build confidence among school girls to navigate the digital world responsibly and securely. In the session 1, the focus will be on Cyber Safety Basics through interactive talks, storytelling, and role-play sessions that highlight safe internet usage, identifying cyber threats like phishing, cyberbullying, and fake news, and understanding digital etiquette. Simple demonstrations, games, and group activities will make the concepts easy to grasp and memorable.
After this in session 2, the emphasis will shift towards Digital Literacy & Empowerment. Participants will engage in hands-on sessions such as safe browsing practices, creating strong passwords, exploring digital tools for learning, and a fun introduction to coding and digital creativity. A panel interaction with women engineers and cybersecurity professionals will inspire the students to pursue STEM with confidence.
The objectives of the workshop are to educate young girls about safe and responsible digital practices, to enhance their awareness of opportunities and risks in the online world, and to empower them with practical skills and confidence to use technology as a tool for learning and growth. By combining awareness, activity, and mentorship, IEEE WIE seeks to shape digitally strong and secure future women leaders.
