Kickoff event to promote the importance of IEEE.

Biography:

  • Andrew “Andy” Seely Andy is the Vice President for Membership and Geographic Activities for the IEEE Computer Society. In this executive committee role, he sets the agenda for supporting global membership and organizations for over 50,000 members worldwide, and he oversees committees for geographic activities, awards and recognition, distinguished visitors, students and young professionals, mission enablement, and new initiatives. Andy is also the IEEE Region 3 Member Communications Committee Chair and the Vice Chair of the IEEE Florida West Coast Section. He is a candidate for IEEE Region 3 Director-Elect in 2025.

    He is a full-time instructor in the Computer Science department at Hillsborough College, Tampa, Florida, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Computer Science for the distance education program at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Previous teaching positions include the University of Tampa and the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences in Oslo, Norway.

    Andy runs a small business consulting company providing business development and cybersecurity policy services. His previous professional positions include Director of Architecture and Engineering at cybersecurity services firm MindPoint Group, multiple positions at defense contracting firm SAIC, including Vice President for Solution Architecture for National Security and Space, Solution Director for Digital Transformation, Solution Architect, Engineering Division Manager, Chief Engineer, and Command and Control Systems team lead, and technical positions at General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and Computer Science Corporation.
