Dr. Chengappa reflected on his journey with IEEE, highlighting how consistent participation in technical societies and student branches fosters innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning. He encouraged students to be proactive contributors, sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and leveraging IEEE as a global platform to create technology that benefits society. His talk underscored the idea that IEEE is not merely an organization but a movement, one that enables young engineers to translate ideas into impactful real-world solutions while upholding ethics, teamwork, and professional excellence.
Biography:
Dr. M. R. Chengappa has been with Hewlett Packard / Hewlett Packard Enterprise for over a decade, advancing from an intern to leading Telco Solution Engineering. His work focuses on NFV-based telecom systems, integrating cloud-native applications and VNFs on NFVi platforms, with specialization in virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) and performance benchmarking. A Senior IEEE Member, he is a founding member of the Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India (CCICI), contributing to cloud interoperability and portability with TSDSI SG2. He holds an M.Phil. from Christ University and is pursuing a Ph.D. from Visvesvaraya Technological University. He has published and spoken internationally.

Subramanya Navada of IEEE Bangalore Section
Leveraging IEEE for Innovation, Leadership, and Impact
Mr. Subramanya Navada K. R. delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the value of leveraging the global IEEE network and resources to foster student innovation and professional growth. He encouraged students to think beyond immediate challenges, collaborate ethically, and maintain curiosity beyond competitions. Highlighting the role of student branches, he spoke about using IEEE platforms to transform creative ideas into impactful real-world projects. Mr. Navada also motivated participants to assume leadership roles, engage in mentorship, and actively contribute to the engineering community, reinforcing the principles of teamwork, innovation, and societal impact through technology.
Biography:
Mr. Subramanya Navada K. R. is an accomplished technologist and dedicated IEEE volunteer known for his leadership, mentorship, and community-building efforts. He holds a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur, and currently works at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bangalore Tech Center. Within IEEE, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives such as IEEE RISE, YP Student–Industry Connect, and the PRIZE Patenting Program, fostering collaboration between academia and industry. His contributions have inspired students to pursue research, innovation, and intellectual property creation. Mr. Navada’s exceptional service has been recognized with the IEEE India Council Best Student Volunteer Award, Chair’s Recognition Award, and Extreme Volunteer Award from JPMorgan Chase. Passionate about technology for social good, he continues to mentor youth, promote ethical leadership, and strengthen IEEE’s mission of empowering engineers to build a better future.
