The PATH TO VIRTUALIZED PROTECTION
Brief description of program:
In this program, we will discuss the evolution of protective relaying into both the virtualized and centralized spaces. We will discuss some of the architecture and performance considerations needed for these systems, as well as performance information gathered through early pilot projects in various utilities. We will also discuss testing and standardization efforts in both the vendor and traditional standards spaces.
This program will build upon digital substation technologies introduced by the Southern Company Research & Development team during the October 6th program entitled "The Vision for Digital Substations at Southern Company".
