Young Protégé 2025 Final Summit
The Young Protégé 2025 Final Summit, organized under StudPro 8.0 by IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, marked the culmination of Sri Lanka’s premier IEEE mentoring initiative. The event was held at CINEC Campus and brought together mentees, mentors, industry professionals, and academic leaders to celebrate the successful completion of the program.
The summit showcased the achievements of the 2025 cohort, highlighted success stories from mentor–mentee journeys, and provided a platform for participants to share their growth experiences. Keynote addresses and panel discussions featured distinguished professionals from industry and academia, who inspired attendees with insights on career readiness, leadership, and innovation.
The event also included recognition of outstanding mentees and mentors, networking sessions, and closing remarks from program leaders, reinforcing the value of mentorship in shaping future-ready professionals. The Final Summit served not only as a celebration but also as a call to action for continued collaboration, lifelong learning, and leadership within the IEEE community.

Open industry Opportunities with IEEE
In his session on “Open Industry Opportunities with IEEE”, the speaker highlighted the vast range of professional pathways and global prospects available through active IEEE engagement. He explained how IEEE membership, technical societies, and volunteering platforms open doors to industry collaborations, research exposure, internships, and career development opportunities both locally and internationally.
The talk emphasized how young professionals and students can leverage IEEE resources to connect with industry leaders, showcase their skills, and participate in flagship initiatives such as conferences, standards development, and innovation challenges. By sharing success stories of individuals who advanced their careers through IEEE, the session motivated participants to view IEEE not just as a professional body but as a gateway to global industry recognition and growth.
Biography:
Prof. S. Vasanthapriyan is an accomplished academic leader and ICT visionary, serving as the Chairperson of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section and the Dean of the Faculty of Computing at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. With internationally rooted academic credentials, he has been an active contributor to IEEE through leadership roles in the IEEE Computer Society Sri Lanka Chapter, technical committees, and national initiatives. His leadership has been recognized through prestigious awards, and his continued commitment to IEEE inspires members and volunteers to advance technology, professional growth, and digital transformation in Sri Lanka.
