Event Description:
The IEEE Communication Society Student Chapter of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at AKGEC organized a highly informative Workshop on LinkedIn & Resume Building on September 10, 2025. The session was designed to provide students with practical guidance for developing a strong professional presence on LinkedIn and preparing impactful resumes to improve their career readiness.

The workshop covered key aspects including:

• Importance of LinkedIn for career growth and networking

• Steps to build and optimize LinkedIn profiles

• Resume structuring, formatting, and the use of impactful keywords

• Common mistakes in resumes and LinkedIn profiles

• Practical career tips for placements and internships

To ensure active participation, the session featured live profile and resume reviews, mini activities such as drafting LinkedIn headlines and resume objectives, and a Follow-up Resume Challenge where students submitted updated resumes within two days. Separate winners were chosen from 2nd-year and 3rd-year participants, and prizes were awarded to the best resumes.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 2nd and 3rd year students, who engaged in discussions and activities, making the workshop interactive and impactful.

Dr. Neelesh Kumar Gupta (Professor & HoD, ECE) addressed the participants, commending their enthusiasm and highlighting the importance of building a professional identity early. He also distributed cash prizes to the winners of the Resume Challenge, appreciating their efforts and motivating others to continuously improve their profiles and resumes.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr. Uma Sharma (Faculty Coordinators) along with Ms. Palak Verma (IEEE Student Chair Head), with dedicated support from the student members of the IEEE Communication Society Student Chapter. Their combined efforts ensured the smooth execution and success of the event.

The Workshop on LinkedIn & Resume Building proved to be a valuable initiative, equipping students with skills that will support their internship and placement journeys while fostering a culture of professional growth and preparedness.
