Central University of Jammu • 6–7 October 2025 • Innovation, Research & Collaboration


IEEE CU Jammu CIS Student Chapter is organizing a two-day celebration on IEEE Day 2025. On 6th October, students will participate in a Hackathon focused on AI, Cyber, and CSE problem-solving, along with a Poster Competition on the theme AI for Viksit Bharat. On 7th October, we will inaugurate the IEEE CIS Student Chapter, followed by keynote talks and sessions on High-Performance Computing and Research Paper Writing.

Winners of the Hackathon and Poster Competition will be felicitated during the inaugural program. Goodies and certificates will be distributed to winners and participants, supported through IEEE funds once disbursed to the Student Branch.

Keynote: “An Introduction to High Performance Computing”
Shri Ashish P. Kuvelkar, Ex-Scientist G at C-DAC Pune, will provide an overview of High Performance Computing (HPC), exploring how supercomputers and advanced computing architectures solve complex computational problems across science, engineering, and technology. The session will cover HPC fundamentals, applications in real-world research, and emerging trends that are shaping the future of large-scale computing. Participants will gain insights into how HPC accelerates innovation and enables breakthroughs in areas such as AI, simulations, and data-intensive research.

Biography:

Ashish Kuvelkar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in advanced computing and technology. Formerly a Scientist G at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for over 28 years, he now serves as a Senior Consultant. His career also includes significant contributions as a Sr. Product Co-ordinator at PCS Technology Ltd. and a Member of Research and Development in the Senate at IIT Goa. Ashish holds a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) and a Bachelor's degree from Government Engineering College, Amravati.

Biography:

Shri Ranbir S. Sedhey is a highly experienced professional currently serving as the IEEE International Client Services & University Partnership Program Manager for India, Middle East Asia, CIS Countries, Africa, and Bangladesh. With a career spanning significant roles at HCL Infosystems Ltd., Edukonnect Solutions Pvt Ltd, and Educomp Solutions Ltd., he possesses extensive expertise in client services, program management, training, and technical support. His background includes managing large-scale educational technology projects, leading teams, and fostering key partnerships. Ranbir holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Leadership from Amity University and a Bachelor of Computer Application from Panjab University, complemented by certifications such as CCNA and MCSA
