Tinker Air Force Base Tour
Tinker Air Force Base is the headquarters of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, the largest of three ALCs in the Air Force Materiel Command and provides depot maintenance, product support, services and supply chain management, as well as information support for 31 weapon systems, 10 commands, 93 Air Force bases and 46 foreign nations.
This visit will provide an in-depth look at their industrial operations, specifically how their personnel conduct the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft to sustain combat-ready airpower. We will have lunch on base after the tour. (Please note that, for security reasons, additional personal information is required to register.)
The base, originally known as the Midwest Air Depot, is named in honor of Oklahoma native Major General Clarence L. Tinker, the first Native American major general. Today, with more than 25,000 military and civilian employees, Tinker is the largest single-site employer in Oklahoma. The installation has an annual statewide economic impact of $3.51 billion, creating an estimated 33,000 secondary jobs.
