Nanomaterials for AI Hardware
The IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Malaysia Chapter, in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully organized an invited lecture titled “Nanomaterials for AI Hardware” for Electrical & Electronics Engineering students at the Faculty of Engineering.
The session was held physically on 2 July 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Microprocessor Laboratory, bringing together students eager to explore the intersection of nanotechnology and next-generation AI hardware.
The invited lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Tanaka Hirofumi from Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), Japan, who shared his extensive research experience in developing innovative nanomaterials and their applications in AI circuits and systems.
This knowledge-sharing session provided students with valuable exposure to advanced topics beyond their regular coursework and encouraged them to explore emerging research opportunities in the field.
Approximately 40 students attended the talk and engaged actively with Prof. Tanaka during the discussion session, asking thoughtful questions about the future challenges and practical applications of nanomaterial-based AI hardware.
This event highlights the IEEE CAS Malaysia Chapter’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young engineers and fostering collaboration between academia and international researchers.
