The highlight of the inaugural ceremony is a keynote session by Dr. Payal Bansal, who will provide a futuristic perspective on global technological trends. This keynote will not only inspire students to innovate but also guide them on how to align their learning with industry expectations.
To celebrate India’s rich heritage, a vibrant folk dance will also be performed, creating a perfect mix of knowledge and culture.

Kickstarting the week-long IEEE Day celebrations, this inaugural session sets the tone for advancing conversations around the transformational role of Artificial Intelligence in technical education. The discussion delves into how AI is simultaneously driving unprecedented innovation while presenting new ethical and academic challenges. Participants will gain insights from leading experts on harnessing AI for curriculum advancement, fostering research, and igniting entrepreneurial ventures. The session also addresses digital equity, global best practices, and future leadership in an increasingly technology-driven academic landscape. This inclusive dialogue aspires to inspire, educate, and empower every participant to contribute meaningfully to the future of engineering education.
Biography:
Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Sancheti is a renowned institution builder and higher education policy expert, currently serving as Vice President for Research Relations & Academic Ambassador at Elsevier India. With over four decades of experience, he has held top leadership roles at some of the country’s most prestigious technical institutions, including as President of Manipal University Jaipur and Vice Chancellor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He has also served as Director at National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in Surathkal, Trichy, Calicut, and Delhi, as well as at the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
A distinguished engineering educator and researcher, Dr. Sancheti holds a Ph.D. from Queen’s University Belfast, UK, and has published over 80 papers in national and international journals. He has led numerous national committees for bodies such as AICTE, UGC, and MHRD, and is a former President of the Association of Indian Universities. Widely recognized for his policy advocacy, academic writing, and transformative vision, Prof. Sancheti has received honors including the Distinguished Alumni Professional Achievement Award from NIT Warangal and the Commonwealth Fellowship. As a thought leader, he continues to champion impactful research, digital adoption in education, and inclusive academic growth for the next generation of learners and innovators.
