Narrative War on Social Media: Detecting Coordinated Inauthentic Behaviour

The Systems Council of IEEE UK & Ireland, is delighted to announce another exciting webinar dedicated to exploring the narrative war on social media

Abstract

Coordinated inauthentic behaviour (CIB) is one of the most pressing challenges in the modern information ecosystem. From fake reviews to sophisticated disinformation campaigns, malicious actors exploit AI and automation to distort narratives, influence public opinion, and erode trust. This talk introduces SocialChecker, an AI-powered framework designed to detect and counter CIB in real time. The session will explore how Wikipedia governance, e-commerce platforms, and social media ecosystems can integrate trust-scoring, observability, and AI-driven defence to combat digital manipulation.
