This October, the world unites under the stars to celebrate World Space Week 2025, themed “Living in Space.”
As humanity ventures beyond Earth — from moon bases to Mars missions — this year’s theme invites us to imagine what it truly means to live among the stars. It’s not just about exploration, but about sustainability, innovation, and collaboration beyond borders.
Here in Uganda, we’re joining the global celebration through Uganda Space Week 2025, led by IEEE Makerere University in partnership with the Uganda Astronomical Society, Stellar View, Aerobuddies, and NASA Space Apps Challenge Uganda.
💫 What’s Happening:
📅 Virtual Sessions: Oct 8–9 at 7PM (Online)
🌠 Physical Meetup: Oct 10, Freedom Square, Makerere University (4PM–10PM)
Featuring: Stargazing with telescopes, inspiring talks, space exploration demos, Kahoot Sessions, DIY for Rockets, and youth innovation challenges.
Together, we’re creating conversations about the future of space science in Africa — and how young innovators, researchers, and dreamers in Uganda can be part of the global mission to make living in space a reality.
