📍 TalTech, Room U05-105 | 💻 Hybrid
🎙 Speaker: Merilin Danquah, Head of Project Management – Railway Systems and Operations, Rail Baltica Estonia.

The IEEE VTS Estonia Section is pleased to host a public lecture titled “Beyond the Tracks: Subsystems in Electric Rail Transportation,” aimed at students from the School of Engineering, particularly within the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and Mechatronics. The lecture targets those interested in electric transportation systems, offering an inside look into the often-overlooked subsystems that enable modern rail networks to function safely and efficiently. From signalling and power supply to communications, control, and operations, the session will explore how these subsystems interact to form a complex, integrated transportation system. The invited speaker, Merilin Danquah, Head of Project Management – Railway Systems and Operations at Rail Baltica Estonia, will share insights from one of Europe’s most ambitious rail infrastructure projects, highlighting real-world challenges and opportunities in subsystem design, integration, and cross-border interoperability.
