When Information Technology Meets Other Fields: Experiences in Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
With the rapid advancement of information technologies, including image processing, speech recognition, large language models, and network communication technologies, all have experienced remarkable improvements. Meanwhile, many non-IT disciplines increasingly rely on the integration of these technologies to expand their applications and enhance research quality. For professionals with backgrounds in electrical engineering or computer science, opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration have become more frequent. In academia, research remains the primary focus. The collaborations that also lead to research article publications represent an ideal win win model. In this talk, the speaker will share two real cases of cross-disciplinary collaborations from his own experience to illustrate and discuss the lessons learned from these projects.
