Introduction

The IEEE Jamia Hamdard Student Branch (IEEE JHSB) is one of the most active student bodies that consistently aims to foster leadership, communication and technical skills among students through diverse events and initiatives. Carrying forward this vision, IEEE JHSB organized VECTOR MUN 2025, a two-day Model United Nations conference that brought together young minds to engage in dynamic discussions, diplomacy and debate on global issues.

 

Event Summary

The first day of VECTOR MUN 2025, held on 9th October 2025, began with the registration of delegates, followed by the commencement of committee sessions. The event featured three active committees: the International Press (IP), All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).  Each committee addressed distinct, thought-provoking agendas:

● AIPPM: Deliberation on Data Privacy and Digital Surveillance in India (Balancing National Security and Individual Rights).

● UNSC: Addressing the Implications of Autonomous Weapons and Artificial Intelligence in Modern Warfare, with Special Reference to the Israel-Palestine Conflict.

● IP: Embedded Journalists, Reporting Dynamically on Committee Proceedings.

 

Three committee sessions were conducted on the first day, where delegates actively presented their stances, collaborated on resolutions and engaged in insightful debates. Delegates were provided with delegate kits, lunch and two high tea sessions, ensuring a well-organized and hospitable environment. To keep the energy high, interactive games were also conducted between sessions, fostering camaraderie and relaxation among participants.

Outcomes

Day 1 of VECTOR MUN 2025 concluded with enthusiasm, insightful discussions and impactful learning experiences. Delegates demonstrated remarkable diplomatic, analytical and communication skills while addressing complex real-world issues. The event successfully met its objective of nurturing leadership, critical thinking and teamwork, core values upheld by IEEE JHSB.
