Duration: Full-day event
Location: ESPRIT School of Business
Organized by: IEEE ESPRIT, ENIT and FSS Student Branches.

Occasion: IEEE Day Celebration

2. Objectives

  • Celebrate IEEE Day and strengthen connections among student branches.

  • Introduce participants to the benefits of IEEE membership and professional growth opportunities.

  • Provide technical and non-technical workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Foster networking, teamwork, and community engagement.

3. Summary of Activities

To begin the day, an IEEE Benefits Workshop was presented by Mr. Ahmed Aouididi, Chair of the IEEE Tunisia Student Activities Committee. Student members discovered how IEEE membership opens doors to growth, collaboration, and leadership opportunities. Mr. Aouididi also shared his inspiring journey within IEEE, from student member to active Young Professional, motivating attendees to explore their own volunteering paths.

Next, Mrs. Ranim Dammak, Secretary of the IEEE Young Professionals Tunisia Section Affinity Group, led the session “From Student to YP.” She shared her transition from student to professional life, emphasizing how IEEE fosters leadership and career development. Mrs. Ranim also introduced tools such as IEEE Collabratec, helping members connect, collaborate, and make the most of their IEEE experience beyond student life.

On the technical side, Mr. Amir Zouenkhi, Software Engineer and Treasurer of the IEEE IAS Tunisia Section Chapter, hosted a workshop on Generative AI. Participants explored how AI models generate new content, text, images, and music, using learned data patterns. He also introduced IEEE DataPort, a valuable platform for accessing datasets and research to support AI projects.

Finally, Mr. Adnen Khiari, Data Scientist, led a “Deep Dive into CNNs” workshop, guiding participants through the architecture and applications of Convolutional Neural Networks. He explained their layered structure, similarity to the human visual system, and demonstrated a working CNN model, offering attendees a strong foundation for future AI exploration.

the second part of the celebration was dedicated to social games and networking opportunities, allowing participants from the three Student Branches to connect, collaborate, and share experiences in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The event concluded on a high note with a talent show, where attendees showcased their creativity and spirit, followed by a memorable group photo capturing the essence of unity and joy that defined the IEEE Day 2025 celebration.
