Biography:
Dr Rosetta Romano is an Assistant Professor of IT and Systems at the University of Canberra with experience across academia and government. Her research focuses on cybersecurity for small and medium enterprises, curriculum Indigenisation, and technology-based support for victim-survivors of domestic violence. She has led several funded national projects on cybersecurity standards, secure data systems, and culturally responsive curriculum design. Dr Romano holds prominent leadership roles as President of AIS-SIGED, Executive Member of HERDSA Academic Development, and chair/co-chair of international conferences. Last year, she received the International Women in Cyber Day Canberra Award. She was named one of 2025’s Most Inspiring Women Leaders in the Educational Sector to Watch.
