TKRCET IEEE Student Branch — IEEE Day Celebrations: Event Report

The IEEE Student Branch, TKRCET—together with its CASS, RAS, and PELS chapters under the IEEE Hyderabad Section—celebrated IEEE Day with a dignified program that opened with a cordial welcome and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an inspiring address from the Chief Guest, Dr. P. A. Harsha Vardhini, Ma’am (Dean, IQAC & HoD–ECE, VITS; Chair, IEEE WIE AG, Hyderabad Section). In her talk, she highlighted the spirit and origin of IEEE Day titled " IEEE — Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow" and clearly explained the benefits of IEEE membership for students, including access to active society chapters, a strong standards culture, mentorship and leadership opportunities, research and publishing avenues, and credible career pathways. The celebration continued with cake cutting, the felicitation of the Chief Guest, a gracious Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. K. Naga Maha Lakshmi (IEEE Student Branch Counselor), a group photograph with faculty, volunteers, and students, and the National Anthem to formally conclude the event. The program strengthened awareness of IEEE’s mission—advancing technology for humanity—and sparked fresh interest in joining IEEE and participating in upcoming chapter activities that convert student ideas into meaningful, real-world impact.
