The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of Digital Twins, a cutting-edge technology that creates real-time digital replicas of physical systems. The goal was to help attendees understand how this innovation is shaping the future of engineering by enabling smarter monitoring, simulation, and optimization processes.

The session, led by Ms. Oumayma Sghayri, provided a comprehensive overview of Digital Twin technologies, combining theory, real-world applications, and interactive engagement.

  • Fundamentals and levels of Digital Twins

  • Types and architecture of digital twin systems

  • Basics of sensor data and commonly used sensors (DHT11, DHT22, DS18B20, LM35, etc.)

  • Challenges and solutions in digital twin implementation:
    Data accuracy, consistency, and latency

  • Communication protocols and the role of edge computing

  • Modeling techniques for Digital Twins:
    3D CAD models, mathematical/physical models, and game engines

  • Integrating digital models with real-time data

  • Applications in the automotive industry, highlighting examples from Tesla and Renault

  • Visualization of real-time data flow between physical and digital systems

  • Explanation of synchronization processes and monitoring interfaces
