Inauguration Of COMSOC CS and WIE


The IEEE Student Branch of KLEF Bachupally proudly hosted the Inaugural Ceremony of the IEEE  Communications Society (ComSoc), the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group (WIE AG), and the IEEE Computer Society (CS) Technical Chapter on 18th October 2025. The event also marked the celebration of IEEE Day 2025, symbolizing global unity of engineers advancing technology for humanity.

With over 24 years of experience, Dr. Vardhini’s insights into VLSI design, IoT, AI, and her leadership in IEEE WIE will inspire the next generation of engineers to innovate and lead with confidence.

Dr. P. A. Harsha Vardhini is a seasoned academician with over 24 years of teaching experience in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). She is the Dean of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Head of the Department at Vignan Institute of Technology and Science, Hyderabad. Dr. Harsha Vardhini pursued her Ph.D. in VLSI Design from JNTUH, and her research interests lie in VLSI, FPGA architectures, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML).

Dr. Vardhini has made significant contributions to research and academia, with over 117 publications in reputed journals and conferences at both the national and international levels, including SCI, SCOPUS, IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, and UGC. She is the author of 3 patents and 9 books/book chapters, highlighting her extensive expertise in the field.

Her professional recognition includes being a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE), Fellow of IEI, Fellow of IETE, and a Life Member of several professional societies such as ISOI, IAENG, IAOE, STRA. Dr. Vardhini has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Rashtrapati Award from the President of India and multiple NPTEL STAR AWARDS (2020-2025). She has also received Best Citizen Gold Medal Award, Best Teacher Award (Uttam Acharya Award), and Women Researcher Award. Her contributions to research have earned her Best Paper Awards from various IEEE conferences.

In addition to her academic and research achievements, Dr. Vardhini has been actively involved in organizing and chairing several FDPs, workshops, international webinars, and special sessions at IEEE and Springer conferences such as IEEE ESCI, IEEE WIECON, IEEE INDICON, IEEE ICISSGT, among others. She is also an editor and reviewer for renowned international journals and conferences, contributing to the quality and progress of scientific research.

Dr. Vardhini has held numerous administrative positions throughout her career, including Dean of Alumni Affairs, Governing Body Member, IETE Executive Council Member, and Treasurer & Secretary of IEEE WIE Hyderabad Section. Her leadership and dedication to educational excellence and women empowerment in engineering continue to inspire countless students, faculty members, and professionals in the field.
