The Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch and an Expert Talk on the topic “Leveraging IEEE for Career Growth, Networking, and Research Opportunities” on the occasion of IEEE Day 2025, held on October 15, 2025.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at S.K.N. Sinhgad College of Engineering, Korti, Pandharpur, organized the Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch and an Expert Talk on the topic “Leveraging IEEE for Career Growth, Networking, and Research Opportunities” on the occasion of IEEE Day 2025, held on October 15, 2025.

 

The program was graced by the presence of Dr. Shashikant S. Patil, Advisor for IEEE Maharashtra Section & Region Liaison (Region 10 & MGA), Senior Member IEEE, as the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the IEEE Student Branch and delivered an insightful expert talk emphasizing the significance of IEEE membership. Dr. Patil guided students on utilizing IEEE as a platform for professional growth, research engagement, and global networking opportunities.

 

The event was organized under the valuable guidance of Dr. K. Shivashanker (IEEE Student Branch Counselor & HOD, Electrical Engineering), with the mentorship of Dr. K. J. Karande (Principal, Campus Director & IEEE Student Branch Mentor). Dr. S. G. Kulkarni (IIC President & Vice-Principal) & coordinated by Prof. K. P. Jadhav (IEEE Student Branch Faculty Coordinator), and Ms. Anagha Kulkarni (IEEE Student Branch Chair) contributed significantly to the success of the event.

 

More than 150 students participated enthusiastically in the program. The event proceedings were compered by Ms. Archana Jadhav and Ms. Sanika Babar, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. D. M. Korake. The collective efforts of all teaching and non-teaching staff members ensured the event’s grand success.

Dr. Patil guided students on utilizing IEEE as a platform for professional growth, research engagement, and global networking opportunities.

Biography:

Dr. Shashikant Patil is a Senior Director and  Professor at Atlas SkillTech University with over 28 years of experience in academia. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and is recognized as a Senior Member of both IEEE and ACM, along with Fellow of IET UK,  IETE India, IEI India,  ISDS Japan, IBE India. His research focuses primarily on Signal Processing, Imaging, and AI/ML, resulting in more than 103 publications in international journals and conferences. Dr. Patil previously served as department head at NMIMS Shirpur, where he established the Bosch Rexroth Centre of Excellence in Automation Technology. He served as Vice President of the IEEE RFID Council and Chair of the IEEE Bombay Section ComSoc Chapter. Throughout his career, he has reviewed over 5000 plus technical articles and maintains editorial positions on numerous scientific journals.  He is Advisor for IEEE Maharashtra Section and appointed as IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor Class 2025.
