IEEE Day Celebration 2025
This year, we celebrated IEEE Day 2025 in collaboration between two Student Branches — Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) and Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS) — joining efforts to reach more students and create stronger connections across universities. We also had the valuable collaboration of Tamia Zambrano, who participated as our IEEE Day Ambassador, promoting the celebration and encouraging students to live the IEEE spirit throughout the event.
We gathered at 6:00 p.m. in a local venue full of energy and enthusiasm. As participants arrived, they received a special IEEE Day 2025 pin featuring an animal and a small card with an interactive game designed to help them meet new people.
Once everyone was settled, we formed groups of 6 to 7 participants to start a series of fun and dynamic games. The first games focused on breaking the ice and encouraging interaction among attendees from different majors and universities — one of the main goals of this event: to build new friendships and connections through IEEE.
Later, each group received a riddle and a challenge. The riddle was a short C++ code problem to be solved mentally. The challenge was to build the tallest noodle tower capable of holding a phone. The winning team received IEEE-branded prizes as a token of recognition for their creativity and teamwork.
To conclude the evening, we shared a short talk about what IEEE is, the benefits of joining, and the activities and opportunities our Student Branches have developed. The objective was to inspire more students to become part of this global community of innovation and collaboration.
Finally, everyone enjoyed a delicious burger with fries, and we ended the night with laughter, new friends, and the true spirit of IEEE — celebrating technology, diversity, and connection.
