Ohm Shunty Ohm — Celebrating IEEE Day 2025 with Circuits, Logic & Fun

As part of IEEE Day 2025 celebrations, the IEEE MTTS Student Chapter in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch, RIT-B organized an electrifying and beginner-friendly technical event titled “Ohm Shunty Ohm.” The event blended the excitement of puzzles and games with the fundamentals of electronics, microwaves, and RF engineering, allowing students to learn through play. With every challenge sparking curiosity, the event aimed to celebrate the IEEE spirit of Advancing Technology for Humanity by bringing together innovation, logic, and fun.

Participants stepped into a world of riddles, circuits, and logic in a series of interactive rounds designed to test both knowledge and teamwork. Round 1 challenged teams with a concept-based electronics quiz covering microwave and RF basics, while Round 2 – Trail of Clues transformed theory into adventure as teams decoded cryptic hints and raced across checkpoints to unlock their next challenge. The final stage, “7 Questions,” added a playful twist where teams guessed hidden electronics-related terms through quick yes/no questioning and entertaining tasks. Each round built upon the last, creating an immersive experience that balanced technical learning with light-hearted competition.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across disciplines, showcasing their teamwork, reasoning, and curiosity. With over participants, the atmosphere buzzed with energy and excitement as students competed for cash prizes and the thrill of discovery. Ohm Shunty Ohm successfully demonstrated that electronics can be both educational and entertaining, leaving participants inspired, engaged, and eager to explore the world of microwaves and circuits beyond the classroom.
