IEEE SB JCET – Annual General Meeting (AGM) Report

Overview:

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IEEE Student Branch, JCET, was held on 5th July 2025. It served as a platform to review the previous term’s activities and plan for the academic year 2025–26.

Counsellor’s Address:

The Annual General Meeting featured an inspiring address by Mr. Manoj M,
Branch Counsellor, IEEE SB JCET, who shared his valuable insights on the

importance of professional organizations like IEEE in shaping students’ careers.
In his speech, he appreciated the dedication shown by the IEEE student
members and emphasized the importance of IEEE in nurturing technical skills,
leadership, and global exposure among students.He encouraged active
participation, highlighted the potential for innovation and collaboration, and
appreciated the efforts taken by the Student Branch to organize impactful
events. His words served as great motivation for all the members present.

Advisor’s Address:

Mr. Sanish V, the Advisor of our IEEE Student Branch, addressed the gathering
with an inspiring and encouraging speech. He began by highlighting the
significance of IEEE in shaping students into well-rounded professionals,
offering a platform not only for technical growth but also for leadership and

collaboration.He appreciated the efforts taken by the newly formed executive
committee and expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to lead with
dedication. He stressed the importance of working as a team and encouraged
everyone to “work together, support one another, and grow as one unit,”
emphasizing that unity and collaboration are the core strengths of any
successful organization.Concluding his address, Mr. Sanish V reminded all
members to make the best use of the opportunities IEEE provides.

Chairperson’s Speech:

Our IEEE Student Branch Chairperson, Mr. Kiran Raj K, delivered a warm and
motivating speech during the Annual General Meeting. He welcomed all
members, especially the new recruits, and shared the vision and mission of the

Student Branch for the current academic year. The Chairperson reflected on
past achievements and highlighted the importance of student involvement in
building a vibrant and active IEEE community.
In the address, the Chairperson emphasized the need for unity, teamwork, and
consistent participation. They encouraged members to explore IEEE’s vast
opportunities — including technical workshops, project funding, leadership
development, and inter-college collaborations. With a strong focus on growing
together, they stated, “Let’s do together, let’s grow together,” setting an
inclusive and empowering tone for the year ahead. The Chairperson concluded
by thanking the Advisor, executive committee, and all student volunteers for

The AGM introduced and recognized active IEEE Society Chapters:

IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS)
IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES)
IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES)
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE)

These chapters aim to enhance specialized learning and focused engagement.
