The IEEE EPT Student Branch had the privilege to celebrate IEEE Day 2025 during the school’s academic study trip to Türkiye, held from October 12 to 17, 2025, in Konya and Istanbul. This exceptional experience combined academic discovery, industrial exploration, and cultural immersion, perfectly reflecting IEEE’s mission of advancing technology for humanity.

The trip began with a warm welcome at Selçuk University, where students met the International Relations Office, toured laboratories, and discussed research projects with professors and local students. A meeting with the University Rector highlighted potential collaboration opportunities between Tunisian and Turkish engineering institutions.

The following days were dedicated to industrial visits linking academic learning to real-world applications. The group visited Vaden, a major automotive manufacturer, observing production lines, automation systems, and export processes. At Tümosan, students explored engine assembly chains and testing facilities, gaining insight into large-scale mechanical production and innovation management.

The delegation also toured the Konya Technopark (InnoPark), discovering how startups, universities, and industries collaborate to drive applied research and technological entrepreneurship. These visits offered valuable exposure to Türkiye’s dynamic innovation ecosystem and its strong link between academia and industry.

Beyond academics, the group discovered the rich cultural heritage of Konya and Istanbul, visiting the Mevlana Museum, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar. These experiences deepened participants’ appreciation for cultural diversity and global perspectives in engineering.

Through this journey, IEEE EPT members not only celebrated IEEE Day in an international context but also strengthened their sense of belonging to the global IEEE community. The event fostered intercultural collaboration, inspired new perspectives on sustainability and technology, and motivated students to contribute to the advancement of science and society.

This celebration abroad stands as a milestone for the IEEE EPT Student Branch, a perfect blend of education, innovation, and cultural exchange, uniting the spirit of engineering with the core values of IEEE.
