Temitope Jinadu of IEEE UNILAG Student Branch

Topic:

My Research Journey & IEEE’s Impact

Temitope shares his story about how he discovered his passion for research and how IEEE has influenced his journey — from mentorship to global opportunities and leadership experiences.

Biography:

Temitope Jinadu is a 400-level Electrical and Electronics Engineering student at the University of Lagos, recognized for his commitment to educational equity, sustainability, and community impact. He is a 2023 United Nations Millennium Fellowship alumnus, a 2024 Nigerian Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) Scholar, and winner of the 2024 IEEE Region 8 Climate Challenge in Bari, Italy.

He gained global exposure as a Research Intern (remote) at Argonne National Laboratory, USA, through the Research Experience for Nigerian Engineering Undergraduates (RENEU) program, where he deepened his interest in renewable energy systems, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and computational applications.

Temitope also served as Vice-President of the Society of Electrical/Electronics and Computer Engineering Students (SEES-UNILAG) for the 2024/2025 session, promoting innovation and scholarship access among peers.

Outside academics, he enjoys football, rap/trap music, and soulful tunes from Sade Adu.

Chizaram Osuji of IEEE FUTO Student Branch

Topic:

Volunteering and Human Empowerment in IEEE

Chizaram explores the leadership and humanitarian development IEEE has fostered in her, sharing the rewards, challenges, and opportunities that come with volunteering and giving back through IEEE.

Biography:

Chizaramekpere Osuji is a Mechatronics Engineering graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and the first female Chair of the IEEE FUTO Student Branch. She led impactful reforms that revived her branch’s activities, boosted membership, and established new technical societies.

As the IEEE RAS Nigeria Sectional Student Representative, she connects students to global opportunities in robotics and automation, advocating for diversity and inclusion across the IEEE ecosystem.

She is passionate about leveraging technology to solve real-world problems in underrepresented regions. Beyond engineering, she is a graphics designer and product manager with strong leadership and project management experience.

Ayomide Popoola of IEEE FUTA Student Branch

Topic:

Making IEEE Work for You

A practical, motivational talk showing students how to take advantage of IEEE membership — from finding opportunities to applying for grants and building global exposure.

Biography:

Ayomide Popoola Christopher is Electrical and Electronics Engineering Graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), with strong interests in robotics, artificial intelligence, and embedded systems.

He previously served as Lead of the RAIN Innovators Network (RAIN-INN) at FUTA, organizing hands-on workshops and technical sessions that equipped students with practical skills in AI and robotics.

Ayomide is a recipient of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society IDEA Grant Award (2025), which funded his participation at the IEEE ARSO Conference in Osaka, Japan. His work focuses on developing scalable hardware systems tailored to Africa’s needs and inspiring young engineers to innovate for social impact.
