The IEEE Student Branch of Rajalakshmi Engineering College successfully organized its flagship technical symposium, IEEE BREADTHS 2.0. The event served as a multidisciplinary platform promoting innovation, collaboration, and hands-on technical learning among students from various institutions. It was structured around four major competitions conducted by all IEEE Society Chapters at the college, each focusing on distinct engineering domains.
Event Highlights:
-
IDEATHON: Focused on developing engineering solutions addressing challenges in energy, mobility, and smart systems. Shortlisted teams pitched their ideas before a technical jury, with emphasis on real-world feasibility and originality.
-
SPARKQUEST – Battle of Innovators: A two-round analytical and strategy-based challenge where participants solved real-world problem scenarios, analyzed case studies, and proposed revival strategies for failed products—evaluating their clarity, logic, and communication skills.
-
TECHNOVATE: Provided a platform for pitching innovative ideas and prototypes in agriculture, healthcare, and education. Teams submitted one-page posters, and shortlisted participants presented their prototypes and practical solutions before an expert panel.
-
MEDROBO-QUEST: Featured three competitive rounds integrating robotics, automation, and healthcare innovation. Participants engaged in technical quizzes, creative design tasks, and futuristic biomedical solution presentations that tested both conceptual and practical design thinking.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across multiple institutions and fostered interdisciplinary collaboration between IEEE Society Chapters. Mr. Devaraj Arcot, a distinguished professional from a leading IT services multinational, served as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address encouraging innovation and professional growth.
IEEE BREADTHS 2.0 concluded successfully, reflecting the Student Branch’s ongoing commitment to advancing technical excellence, fostering student leadership, and strengthening engagement within the IEEE community.
