Sigwave 2K25, a two-day state-level hackathon organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society of The Oxford College of Engineering, was held on October 16–17, 2025.The event commenced with an inspiring inauguration ceremony, graced by distinguished dignitaries from the IEEE Bangalore Section, including Dr. Ashwini Appaji, Vice Chair, WIE India Council and Execom Member, IEEE Bangalore Section, along with  Dr. N. Sriram, Vice Chair, IEEE EMB Society, Bangalore Chapter. The guests inaugurated the hackathon and also took part in the IEEE Day celebration held earlier that morning. The ceremony was further honored by the presence of the Principal, Head of Departments, faculty members, and enthusiastic student participants.

The hackathon witnessed active participation from teams representing 12 engineering colleges across Karnataka. The event began with an Ideathon session, where teams presented and refined their ideas under expert mentorship, setting the stage for the 24-hour development marathon that followed.

On the second day, Review 1 allowed participants to showcase their progress and receive valuable feedback from the judges and mentors. The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where the finalist teams demonstrated their prototypes before Ms. Jaysudha, Execom Member, IEEE SPS.

Sigwave 2K25 successfully embodied the essence of innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence, fostering creativity and collaboration among young engineers and celebrating the vibrant spirit of the IEEE community.


Feedback & Conclusion

The feedback session reflected the participants’ enthusiasm for the event’s engaging and dynamic format. Faculty, judges, and participants commended Sigwave 2k25 for its seamless organization and impactful execution. The 24-hour hackathon, supported by structured mentoring and review sessions, effectively promoted innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration. The event was widely appreciated for fostering creativity and providing a valuable experiential learning platform.
