Discover ECE: A TryEngineering STEM Visit - An Educational Outreach Program for High School Students
IEEE Student Branch of GMR Institute of Technology and Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) jointly organized an Educational outreach program titled “Discover ECE: A TryEngineering STEM Visit” for high school students. The initiative aimed to spark curiosity and inspire young minds toward careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Students from Z.P. High School of A.V. Puram, Vizianagaram (Dt) and their teachers participated in this event.
During the visit, students were introduced to the fundamentals of electronics and communication engineering through interactive demonstrations through lab tours commencing from Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab, Analog & Digital Communication Lab, IC Lab, ECAD Simulation labs, and hands-on activities. Faculty members and student volunteers explained various experiments, innovative projects executed by them to the children and real-world applications, including sensors, communication systems, and robotics. Students understood the practical things behind the Community Radio Station operations demonstrated by Sri. R. Rama Lakshmana Sharma. Students inspired by some demonstrations of TryEngineering.
The event provided an engaging platform for participants to explore the excitement of engineering, fostering a spirit of innovation and inquiry aligned with IEEE’s TryEngineering and STEM outreach mission.
Overall, the program successfully created awareness about the impact of ECE in modern technology and motivated school students to pursue STEM education in the future.
