Adaptive Systems Engineering for Smart Systems
Due to the progress of AI, systems are smarter and more adaptive. But what is adaptive system in general and how to build an adaptive system? This talk reviews the 20 years of development history of Adaptive and Adaptable Systems Engineering and Management (AdaptSEM). This talk will discuss AdaptSEM’s method system and how it supports different needs of building smart systems.

Dr. Haifeng Zhu
Biography:
development experience mainly in aircraft, HVAC and elevator systems. His work has been collected into IEEE/INCOSE Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK) and used in industry including Boeing and Raytheon etc. He served a number of positions in academic and scientific communities, including as a general chair or a co-chair of technical program committees of several major conferences in systems or complex adaptive systems areas. He is interested in advancing knowledge and technologies for humanity, and promoting awareness of technologies' different effects and their wise uses to help human lives and society. He is also an advocator of engineer education and promotes collaborations to better serve our communities.
