MOM (Minutes of IEEE IIUM sb Meeting)
The IEEE IIUM Student Branch held a meeting on October 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the ENG Smart Classroom, presided over by Chairman Anas Abdulsalam Onar Abdulnabi and documented by Secretary Amani Salah Majzob.
The meeting focused on planning upcoming events and initiatives. Key discussion points included:
1. Collaboration with ECESA: The branch explored potential collaboration opportunities with ECESA, aiming to combine resources for a greater impact. An initial action item is to organize a joint social event in the coming weeks. Responsibilities have been distributed, with ECESA tasked to provide refreshments, poster design, and media coverage.
2. AI Webinar Planning: Plans are underway for an AI-focused webinar featuring Dr. Malik Arman Bin Morshidi as the speaker, tentatively scheduled for November 7, 2025. The event is planned as an on-site activity with a target attendance of at least 40 participants. Proposed titles for the webinar include "Ethical and Social Implications of Artificial Intelligence," "The Role of AI in Sustainable Development and Smart Cities," and "AI-Based Channel Estimation for 6G and IoT Networks."
3. Industrial Visit: Following the success of the previous visit to Nokia, preliminary discussions have begun to organize another industrial trip for members.
4. Committee T-shirts: To boost committee spirit and visibility, the branch plans to print exclusive T-shirts for active members. The media team is currently responsible for determining the designs.
