Dear IEEE-CT,

Connecticut Section PACE and YP are presenting at CCSU Sat Nov 15 an exciting interactive presentation on:

1) Career Development Using AI

2) Cybersecurity

Senior Member Elevation

We will have a table set up with three references that are needed for the elevation. Please bring your resume in any form.

IEEE Bylaw I-104.3 sets forth the criteria for elevation to Senior Member grade as follows:

  • A candidate shall be an engineer, scientist, educator, technical executive or originator in IEEE-designated fields
  • Candidates shall have been in professional practice for at least ten years
  • Candidates shall have shown significant performance over a period of at least five of those years

In addition, candidates for Senior Member grade must supply three references from current IEEE members holding the grade of Fellow, Senior Member, or Honorary Member.

We will run the CT members eligibility ahead of time and inform you via email of your case, so don’t stress too much.

See you on Sat Nov 15 at Central Connecticut State University, New Britain!

Event is free, but please be kind to register for head count.

Hope to see you in great numbers!

Kind regards,

Oscar Tonello

PACE, or the Professional Activities Committee for Engineers, is a network of IEEE volunteers who focus on supporting the professional development and interests of their members. These activities include providing career and skill-based workshops, promoting pre-college STEM education, and informing members about government policy that affects engineers.

YP in the context of IEEE stands for Young Professionals, an international community within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for members who have graduated within the past 15 years. Its purpose is to help early-career engineers with career development, networking, and professional growth through events, resources, and a global network.

  Speakers

Sakshi Kiran Naik

Topic:

Career Development Using AI

This is truly the AI age, hence the speaker believes students can exponentially accelerate their career growth by learning how to leverage the right tools and platforms. Since most students don’t yet have industry exposure, this kind of practical session can give them a strong competitive edge.

For non-students alike, this event will show how to use AI in creating resumes that are filtered by AI itself.

Feel free to bring your laptop/electronic resume as for the speaker to help with your own case aside from initially demonstrating on a sample resume.
