Abstracts and Bios:
Title: The Optical Network Emulator (ONE) Engine
Short Summary / Abstract: The Optical Network Emulator (ONE) engine is a software-only solution designed to emulate the key functionalities of a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical network in real time. It replicates the behavior of critical optical hardware components such as transponders and Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) nodes entirely in software. The ONE engine aims to support open optical transport network (OOTN) initiatives by enabling early testing and validation of software-based solutions. Additionally, it can serve as an educational tool, allowing students and researchers to gain hands-on experience with OOTN and software-defined networking (SDN) technologies as applied to WDM transport networks, without the need for expensive optical equipment or physical infrastructure.
Short Bio: Aparaajitha GL, fourth year PhD student in OpenLab @UT Dallas lead by Prof. Andrea Fumagalli's, focusing on Open Optical Transport Networking and Open Radio Access Networking
Title: EXODUS-5G: Emergency eXecution of Orchestrated Displacement of 5G CU-UP Using O-RAN RICs
Short Summary: EXODUS-5G is an automated 5G defense system that uses machine learning to detect cyber attacks on CU-UP (F1-score: 0.956) and autonomously migrates the compromised component to a secure location via optical transport network within 6-10 seconds detection and 1.2 seconds migration time, ensuring mission-critical communication continuity.
Short Bio: Linqi Xiao, third year PhD candidate in Dr. Andrea Fumagalli's OpenLab, mainly focus on Optical Communication Network and 5G ORAN research
