IEEE Technical University of Mombasa Student Branch Industrial Visit to Momnai PV Solar Power Plant by Frontier Energy

The IEEE TUM SB within Kenya section and Region 8 is organizing an industrial visit to Momnai PV Solar Industrial Site located in Bamburi area Mombasa.

This is to provide student within the Student Branch with practical exposure to solar energy generation and Photovoltaic (PV) system technologies hence fostering a better understanding of Solar energy harvesting and power production.

The visit aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world industrial applications. Student members will gain insights into the design, operation, and maintenance of solar power plants, understand the processes involved in solar module manufacturing, and observe how large-scale solar energy systems contribute to sustainable power generation and clean energy.

Agenda

The Site Visit is intended to achieve the Following :

Learning about energy modelling, Solar plant design and scaling and Transmission configuration in off-grid(stand alone) and on-grid system.

To enhance Employability and Skills among the Students mostly in Renewable Solar energy as the exposure to the Solar Power plant will aid the students in understanding Solar energy Industry standards, work ethics related to solar and renewable energy and current trends in Solar energy at large.

For career clarity and Guidance mainly to students who are passionate to specialize into solar energy sector and job roles within a Solar Company, hence the students will gain insights into the Solar industry and make informed decisions.

To attract Student Membership into our IEEE SB by exposing the non-Member students to different engaging activities carried out within the SB hence attracting them to pay for active Membership etc.
