Dear IEEE Windsor Section Members,

On behalf of the IEEE Windsor Section, we are pleased to invite you to the 2025 IEEE Windsor Section Annual General Meeting (AGM). This year's AGM will bring together our members, volunteers, and partners to reflect on the Section’s achievements over the past year and to discuss plans for the year ahead.

The event will feature a keynote address by Dr. Narayan Kar, Distinguished University Professor, Tier 1 Canada Research Chair, and Founder and Director of CHARGE Lab, and a Guest of Honour address by Dr. Mehrdad Saif, IEEE Fellow and former Dean of Engineering at the University of Windsor, followed by a networking lunch. It is a great opportunity to connect with fellow IEEE members, learn about ongoing initiatives, and celebrate the contributions that make our Section thrive.

Dr. Narayan Kar

Topic:

Research on Advanced Electric Motors and Drives for Use in Electric Vehicles

Dr. Narayan Kar is a Distinguished University Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Windsor, where he also holds Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Electrified Vehicles position. He is the founder and Director of the Centre for Hybrid Automotive Research and Green Energy (CHARGE) at the University of Windsor. Dr. Kar's research focuses on electric vehicle system and sub-system design optimization and performance validation in collaboration with the automotive industry. His research program is funded by multiple funding sources, including the Government of Canada and Mitacs and automotive OEM and tiered suppliers.
