Case Review of Legal Decisions Affecting Engineers
This month’s session will review a series of recent legal cases involving and affecting design professionals. The presentation will highlight real-world “lessons learned” for engineers and other participants in the design and construction process. Attendees will gain practical insights into risk management strategies to help avoid or minimize the repetition of common professional errors and oversights. The Professional Development Hour (PDH) awarded for this session is intended to satisfy Maryland COMAR 09.23.06.03, Paragraph B, which requires Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) participation in subject areas related to ethics, professional conduct, standards of practice/care,
or applicable laws and regulations.

Biography:
Jonathan is an attorney and Managing Member at Lee/Shoemaker PLLC, with bar admissions in several states and federal courts. He concentrates his practice on the representation of design professionals throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
Jonathan’s experience includes several noteworthy case decisions on behalf of design professionals and the broader design industry, addressing issues such as contract disputes, economic loss, statutes of limitation, and indemnity matters. His depth of experience provides valuable perspective on the legal and practical challenges faced by architects, engineers, and other professionals engaged in the design and construction process.
