IEEE SIGHT Workshops 24/25
IEEE SIGHT at the Hashemite University organized a series of workshops aimed to provide university students with valuable insights into emerging technologies and personal development. The workshops were conducted in collaboration with the Center of Innovation at the Hashemite University, and targeted students seeking to enhance their technical knowledge and career planning skills.

Workshop 1: Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Date: July 22nd, 2025
The workshop was hosted by Eng. Laith Al-Khawaja, an alumnus of Hashemite University and the first IEEE SB Chair. During the session, he guided the 30 attendees through the current status and features of AI development. He also provided a clear explanation of key AI terms, including machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, and algorithmic biasing. The session featured an interactive game with prizes totaling up to 100 JD.
Workshop 2: How to Build Your Own Path to Achieve Your Dream
Date: July 29th, 2025
This workshop was conducted by Ms. Areej Hanandeh, General Manager and founder of Runnersjo. With over 15 years of experience in the marketing field, Ms. Areej shared her personal journey and professional insights, guiding students on how to chart their own career paths and achieve their goals.
Participants engaged in an interactive dialogue, asking questions and discussing challenges they face in defining their career paths. Ms. Areej provided actionable strategies for goal setting and career planning. The workshop also highlighted balancing academic responsibilities with career exploration and transforming personal passions into meaningful work experiences.
Conclusion
The workshops successfully engaged students by providing both technical knowledge and personal development guidance. While the AI workshop focused on enhancing technical skills in emerging technologies, the individual development workshop equipped students with practical tools to plan their careers and pursue their dreams with confidence.
