Warm greetings from the IEEE Local Group — Data Science for Climate Risk Management.

I am delighted to share that our Local Group has been approved, and we are kicking off activities to bring together researchers, young professionals, practitioners, and policymakers who care about turning data insights into climate resilience. 

Our mission

To leverage data science and emerging technologies to tackle the complex challenges of climate extremes. By promoting interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, advancing research, and enabling practical applications, we strive to empower communities towards disaster risk reduction, resilience and drive sustainable progress in the face of a changing climate.

Our three pillars

·         Capacity Building & Skill development: Short courses and hackathon.

·         Outreach & Engagement: Lightening talks and industry–academia dialogues.

·         Research Co-Lab: Collaborative research and publishing.
