5G-NTN to the Rescue: Immediate Connectivity for Emergencies

In just 90 minutes, we will explore how the combination of 5G and satellite technologies can transform real-world rescue and emergency missions, including:

• Maritime SAR operations (Open Arms) with moving platforms.
• Deployable telemedicine for crises and disasters (field hospital, remote consultation, etc.).

We will also feature a presentation from CDTI, offering insights into upcoming EUSPA calls related to these topics (secure communications, GOVSATCOM services, downstream applications, etc.) and guidance on how interested organizations can position themselves.

Additionally, we will include the strategic perspective of the Spanish Space Agency (AEE), real-world use cases from the field, and an interactive panel where we will address:

• Real requirements and in-field constraints.
• The “minimum kit” for critical connectivity with 5G-NTN.
• KPIs and criteria for designing emergency “connectivity bubbles” using 5G-GOVSATCOM.
