Event Overview

The IEEE Student Branch of Rajkiya Engineering College Sonbhadra organized an Expert Talk Session featuring renowned scientist Dr. Sreelal Sreedharan Pillai, Scientist/Engineer – G & Divisional Head, ASCD–ISRO.
This session was aimed at providing students with deep insights into the rapidly evolving domains of VLSI and Embedded Systems, two of the most crucial technologies driving modern electronics, aerospace, and communication industries.

The event witnessed active participation from students across all branches, especially Electronics, Electrical, and Computer Science, who gained exposure to advanced concepts directly from an industry expert.


About the Speaker – Dr. Sreelal Sreedharan Pillai

Dr. Pillai is a distinguished scientist at ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) with extensive expertise in avionics, telemetry systems, and advanced embedded technologies.

  • Holds degrees from Kerala University, IIT Chennai, and a Ph.D. from NUS.

  • Has authored over 65 research publications and holds 7 patents.

  • Played a key role in multiple ISRO missions through his leadership in avionics development.

  • Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of IETE.

His contributions have significantly shaped India’s capability in advanced space electronics and mission-critical systems.
