IEEE Day Event -II: Practical Electric Car Journey Experiences and Case Studies from 20,000+ Kilometres across India
The IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter, IIT Kanpur, cordially organised an insightful talk by Mr. Sushil Reddy, founder of The Sun Pedal Ride, an outreach initiative promoting sustainability and clean mobility through endurance journeys on zero tailpipe emission vehicles. The Title of the talk is “Practical Electric Car Journey Experiences and Case Studies from 20,000+ Kilometres across India"
This talk Recognized for his impactful awareness campaigns, Mr. Reddy holds a Guinness World Record (2016) for the longest journey on a solar-powered electric bicycle and an India Book of Records mention for the longest endurance electric car journey. In 2019, he also led a 6,000+ km campaign in 60 days using a retrofitted, solar-powered electric auto-rickshaw.
The ongoing edition of The SunPedal Ride covers an 8,000+ km journey in an electric car along India’s Golden Quadrilateral route, spanning over 60 days with 15 university stops. Through this initiative, Mr. Reddy strives to inspire dialogue and awareness on sustainability-based technologies, particularly among students and youth.

Biography:
Mr. Sushil Reddy is an IIT Bombay alumnus (B.Tech. in Energy Science and Engineering, 2013) and holds an M.Sc. in Sustainability and Social Innovation from HEC Paris. He is the founder of The SunPedal Ride, an outreach initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and clean mobility through endurance journeys on zero-tailpipe-emission vehicles.
