The Matrix of Cybernetics: Decode • Control • Create

SMC Day 1.0 was a landmark event organized by the IEEE SMC Student Branch Chapters of the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax (FSS), the National Engineering School of Sfax (ENIS), the Higher Institute of Computer Science and Multimedia of Sfax (ISIMS) , and International Institute of Technology (IIT). The event took place on October 30, 2025, bringing together students, innovators, and technology enthusiasts for a full day dedicated to exploring the world of cybernetics, system thinking, and intelligent problem-solving.

This first edition embraced a unique immersive theme — The Matrix of Cybernetics — inviting participants to “decode, control, and create” through hands-on workshops, debates, and creative challenges. Inspired by the symbolic Matrix universe, the event blended science, imagination, and education to introduce cybernetics in a captivating and accessible way.

Through interactive sessions, real-world discussions, and collaborative activities, SMC Day 1.0 succeeded in opening students’ eyes to a field that shapes our world yet often remains invisible.
