Industrial visit to NRSC
The industrial visit to the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO is designed to give students an enriching exposure to India’s advancements in space technology and remote sensing. The program begins with an expert-led lecture on the Indian Space Program, offering insights into ISRO’s vision, major milestones, and the role of satellite technology in national development. This session aims to broaden students’ understanding of how space science contributes to various sectors, from communication to disaster management.
Following the lecture, students will be shown an engaging video presentation that highlights ISRO’s remarkable achievements over the years. This visual showcase helps students connect theoretical concepts with real missions and technologies developed by ISRO. It also provides a clearer picture of India’s progress in the global space arena and inspires curiosity about future missions.
A key part of the visit is the interactive session with NRSC scientists, where students can ask questions and gain clarity on concepts related to satellites, remote sensing, and space applications. This direct interaction allows them to understand the practical challenges, responsibilities, and innovations involved in space research. Such conversations often encourage students to explore opportunities for internships, projects, or careers in space-related fields.
The visit concludes with a guided tour of the exhibition area, where students can explore models of satellites, launch vehicles, and space science exhibits. They will also get to see satellite images and understand how remote sensing data is used in environmental monitoring, agriculture, urban planning, and disaster management. Overall, this industrial visit provides a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience that connects classroom knowledge with real-world space applications.
