The IEEE Paper Seminar is a professional development session designed to equip students with essential skills for academic writing, publishing, and effective communication. The seminar covers core areas such as research paper structure, technical writing for papers and presentations, and best practices for preparing strong graduate school application essays. Led by Dr. Adekunle Adeleke, a top-ranked researcher and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Nile University of Nigeria, the workshop aims to help participants improve the clarity, quality, and impact of their academic work while preparing them for future research and postgraduate opportunities.

Dr. Adeleke of STB60108714 - Nigerian Turkish Nile University

This session introduced students to the essential principles of research and technical writing, guiding them through the full structure of a standard academic paper, including the abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion. Participants were taught how to identify credible sources, avoid plagiarism, format their work correctly, and present findings clearly and professionally. The session also covered best practices for technical communication, journal selection, academic integrity, and effective writing strategies for reports, conference papers, and graduate school applications. Students gained practical insight into citation styles, common writing pitfalls, and how to organize ideas logically to produce high-quality academic work.

Biography:

Dr. Adekunle A. Adeleke is the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Nile University of Nigeria and a Senior Lecturer known for his strong contributions to sustainable energy and materials research. He leads the university’s “Waste to Wealth” Research Group, focusing on converting waste and biomass into useful materials and renewable energy solutions. Widely recognized for his scholarly output, he has consistently ranked among the top researchers in Nigeria and has earned awards for leading one of the best-performing research teams within the Honoris United Universities network. His work bridges practical engineering, environmental sustainability, and innovative academic research.
