The IEEE Student Branch of Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura, in collaboration with the IEEE Bangalore Section, conducted the PRAVARTANA Outreach Program at Niveditha High School on November 07, 2025. The primary goal of this initiative was to introduce young school students to emerging technologies and encourage them to explore the world of innovation and engineering.

The program began with a welcome address and an energizing warm-up yoga session, helping students initiate the day with a focus on physical fitness, mindfulness, and enthusiasm.

Following this, an awareness session on Cyber Security was delivered by the IEEE student members. Students were educated about online safety practices, password protection, identifying suspicious content, cyberbullying prevention, and responsible usage of social media platforms. This session aimed to empower students to navigate the digital world securely.

The major highlight of the outreach event was a technical session themed:
Empowering Young Minds through IoT & Embedded Systems using Arduino and Raspberry Pi

Students were introduced to the basics of:

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Sensors and their applications
  • Embedded systems fundamentals
  • Real-life automation examples

To reinforce the learning, the session was followed by hands-on mini-project activities using Arduino and Raspberry Pi kits. Students enthusiastically participated in assembling basic electronics circuits, interacting with hardware components, and observing the output through programmed logic. This practical exposure sparked curiosity and helped them understand how technology shapes the modern world.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Varuna Kumara, IEEE Branch Counselor, who ensured the smooth organization and delivery of the sessions.

The successful execution of the event was made possible through the active involvement of the following IEEE Student Branch members.

Their dedication contributed to an impactful learning experience for the school students.

Faculty and staff of Niveditha High School appreciated the initiative, acknowledging that such outreach programs play a crucial role in motivating students to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The PRAVARTANA program effectively fostered curiosity, creativity, and confidence among the young learners.
