IEEE Student Branch Inauguration and Technical Talk

The IEEE Student Branch of the SNPSU, was inaugurated on 29-10-2025 with the aim of fostering technical innovation, professional development, and global networking among students. The event marked a significant milestone in providing a platform for students to explore emerging technologies, research, and leadership opportunities through IEEE.
The program was gracefully hosted by Ms. Shravani H S, CSE, who served as the Master of Ceremony. It commenced with an invocation song by Ms. Anusha P from the Department of EEE, invoking divine blessings for the occasion. This was followed by a warm welcome address by Ms. Thanushree from the Department of CSE, who extended heartfelt greetings to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students.
Dr. H. Ramakrishna, Registrar, SNPSU, and Dr. N. C. Mahendra Babu, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, graced the occasion and emphasized the importance of IEEE membership in shaping students into globally competent professionals.The formal inauguration of the IEEE Student Branch was carried out by Ms. Siddhi, IEEE Core Team Member. The Chief Guests, Prof. Anadi Giridharan and Prof. Devendra Gowda, were introduced by Ms. Priya and Ms. Shravani, members of the IEEE Core Team. Following the inauguration, The Chief Guest, Prof. Anadi Giridharan, delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of IEEE in fostering innovation, technical excellence, and professional development among students. She encouraged students to utilize the IEEE platform to enhance their learning, leadership, and collaborative skills. Following the inauguration, Prof. Devendra Gowda conducted an orientation session, where he explained the vision, mission, and benefits of IEEE membership. He guided students on how to participate in various IEEE activities such as conferences, workshops, and research forums, motivating them to pursue continuous learning and contribute to technological advancement. Dr. Shantharam Nayak, Associate Dean, SOET, appreciated the efforts of the students. All Department Directors extended their cooperation in organizing the event and encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration in future IEEE activities
Dr. Rekha S. N., Branch Counsellor, addressed the gathering, guiding students on how to utilize IEEE as a platform for innovation and professional growth. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Monisha, IEEE Core Team Member, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation and contribution to the success of the ceremony. The core team members of IEEE — Dilip, Komal, and Ullas — actively organized the inaugural function.
The event was highly informative and inspiring. It helped students understand the vast scope of IEEE in enhancing technical knowledge, teamwork, and innovation. Overall, the IEEE Student Branch Inauguration at SNPSU was a memorable success, motivating students to pursue excellence and contribute actively to the IEEE community.

Devendra Gowda

Biography:
Prof. Devendra Gowda is an experienced academician with 13+ years in academia and industry.
He holds B.Tech, M.Tech, and is pursuing a Ph.D. from VTU, along with a PGDIPR from IGNOU.
He currently serves in the Department of EEE at Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
Recognized as an Innovation Ambassador (MoE–IIC) and trained under Bosch Skill India.
He has received major awards, including the IEEE STEM Champion Award and Promising Young Teacher Award.
With 18 NPTEL certifications and multiple publications, he contributes actively to research and innovation.
He has delivered 40+ expert talks across India on Innovation, IPR, EVs, and Cybersecurity.
As of 2024–25, he serves as IEEE Bangalore Section Executive Committee Member, SAC Co-Chair, and Treasurer of the Consultant Network AG.
