Technical Talk on “Power Converters for LED Lighting System”
The IEEE IAS Student Branch, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, in association with the Electrical Engineering Students’ Society (EESS), successfully organized a Technical Talk on “Power Converters for LED Lighting System” on 17th October 2025 at 4:00 PM at the TEL Centre, NIT Arunachal Pradesh. The session was delivered by Prof. B. L. Narasimharaju, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Warangal, who provided in-depth insights into energy-efficient LED lighting systems, power conditioning techniques, power factor correction, and modern power converter architectures. The talk highlighted the limitations of conventional lighting systems and the growing importance of LED technology for sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions. The session witnessed active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students, making it a highly informative and engaging academic event.

Power Converters for LED Lighting System
Biography:
B. L. Narasimharaju (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.E and M.E degrees from UVCE-Bengaluru and the Doctorate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Roorkee in 2012. He joined the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India, in 2012, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering.,His research area includes power electronic converters, LED drivers and switched mode power supplies.
